The frequency of DSA is estimated in approximately 3 to 5% of the school age population.

The Serafico Institute adopts a global approach of the child, the adolescent and the adult with DSA, offering various processes for diagnosis, certification and educational-rehabilitative treatments. Following a free consultation with our clinical staff, the disorder is identified and specific treatment interventions are recommended.

Diagnosis and certification

Il percorso per la certificazione di DSA prevede:

  • colloquio anamnestico medico e psicologico
  • visite neuropsichiatriche (2 sedute)
  • valutazione intellettiva, affettivo-relazionale, delle funzioni cognitive (psicologo clinico 4 sedute)
  • valutazione delle abilità strumentali di letto-scrittura e calcolo (psicologo clinico – logopedista 3 sedute)
  • valutazione della coordinazione motoria (neuropsichiatra – neuro psicomotricista)
  • relazione conclusiva con diagnosi clinica e diagnosi funzionale
  • elaborazione programma terapeutico riabilitativo
  • indicazioni didattico-pedagogiche per la scuola
  • certificazione
  • consegna relazioni e progetti con colloquio informativo con genitori e/o tutore

Treatments

  • Rehabilitative: specific neuropsychological interventions, speech therapy, psychomotor rehabilitation, visual rehabilitation and music therapy
  • Educational: individual educational teaching workshops or small groups focusing on improving calculation skills and problem-solving, understanding and producing written texts, computer use of appropriate educational software, psychological empowerment
